This will be the perfect day out for families and adults! Elephant Rocks State Park is named after its awe-inspiring trunk-to-tail gigantic pink granite boulders appearing to the top of the hill like a train of circus elephants. This unique rock formation was created 1.5 billion years ago by lava being pushed to the surface in the most unique and beautiful was possible. Today’s hike will not even feel like a hike - this place feels like an adult’s playground, where you will be able to jump from rock to rock and let your imagination fly with it. It is a simple 1.5 mile hike amazing for families and adults.

After the hike, we will head to another amazing place for breathtaking rock formations: Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park. This swimming hole is a jewel within Missouri. Here, we will swim and play while we refresh in the shallows of the East Fork of the Black River. On the way back, we will stop at a local creamery for some refreshing hand dipped ice cream.
